On August 27th, the notorious bike gang slash fashion design girl squad – otherwise known as The Deadly Nightshades – transformed Room 222 into one big photo shoot. The walls were covered in hand silk screened paper, their new collection was put out for play time and the camera just kept shooting.

Everyone snuggled into bed with the Freedom Clothing Collective, enjoying an evening of all things comfy, cozy and sexy. We made masks out of fabulous laces and friendly fabrics and shopped from an amazing selection of locally made jewelery, artisan clutches, modern millinery and prêt a porter clothing.

In correspondence with Trish Cook’s photo installation at Not My Dog for the month of August, Coffee Stained Cards did on the spot photography and developing. Patrons glamed up in SOOS Jewelry, dis photo shoots and then pick from a range of frames for their prints!

The (half) face behind Bras and Ranties

This week, Room 222 was overflowing with the work of 80+ talented canuck artists. Shopgirls’ displayed a unique collection of fashion, accessories and art and brought in a few of their favourite local artisans: Janelle Guthrie was felting, Pricila Gomes as crocheting and Tennille Will was sketching her signature abstract nudes. Style consultant Wendy Woods of THE REFINERY also gave mini-makeovers from Shopgirls’ Canadian collection of fashion.
